Dish Network/Echostar, the new corporate bastards
The moment the do not call registry was created I went ahead and registered all my phones. The do not call list in the United States is a list that the government maintains that is to be used by all telemarketers to exclude numbers that they may call. Finally an inteligent decision by Washington. I always considered Washington be one big blob of stupidity, but every now and then do make a mistake, after all they are human (well more neanderthal).
Of late my peace at home is again being destroyed. The phone has once again started to ring. Almost 3 to 4 times a week. And guess who it is? The Dish Network, run by Echostar. Yep, the satellite TV folks. And in the most underhanded and corrupt manner, they are using some offshore company in India to make the calls. The callers have been brazen enough to tell me that the do not call list does not apply to them.
So, now I need to figure out how to screw the Dish Network. Clearly a report to the FTC and FCC is a first step. A letter to the Dish Network executives will be a good second step. And if I am a true American, then perhaps a law suit will shake them fuckers.
